I perform civil marriage ceremonies & get to witness some very beautiful moments. Occasionally, entwined in these beautiful moments are the darnedest things: something said, something not said, something that happens. Consummating ...

Currently my favorite actual voice mail message:

"Hi, this is ---. We just obtained our marriage license today and we're trying to see if you have availability today or as soon as possible, if we could go ahead and get it consummated."

LOL! Shotgun wedding - I'll assume they've already consummated that!!
